The thrilling final part of the Shadowmagic trilogy.

Shadowmagic

A Lord of the Rings for the 21st century. Only a lot shorter. And funnier. And completely different.

Conor thought he was an average teenager. OK, so his father only had one hand, spoke to him in ancient languages and was a bit on the eccentric side but, other than that, life was fairly normal. Until, that is, two Celtic warriors on horseback and wearing full armour appear at his front door and try to kill him. After that, things get pretty weird.

Shadowmagic is a fantasy adventure for young adults (although grown ups will like it too). Written by one of the most popular magicians in the country it brings a fresh approach to the genre and will have a broad appeal beyond the fantasy sections.

Prince of Hazel and Oak

Having returned to the real world from Tir Na Nog at the end of the last book, our hero Conor finds himself arrested for the murder of his father. When he explains to the cops that his dad is safe and well and enjoying life as king of a land of elves, imps and banshees they understandably think he is a nutcase. That is until he is rescued by Celtic warriors on horseback and taken back to Tir Na Nog, accidentally bringing a policeman with him.

Once safely back in The Land, Conor finds that all is not well. His father is dying, the girl he loves is betrothed to another and a rather confused American cop is wandering around causing havoc.

It falls to our young hero, and his band of friends, to find a cure for the king. On their epic journey they encounter one of the most mystical and dangerous races in The Land, the shapeshifting Pooka, and find their fates linked in ways they could never have imagined.

The Prince of Hazel and Oak is a stunning fantasy adventure that takes fans of Shadowmagic further in to the land and brings back many of the favourite characters from the first book.

Sons of Macha (Shadowmagic, Book 3) by John Lenahan

When Conor returns to the Real World with Brendan and Ruby he tries to settle back into a normal life, but shortly after he arrives he is arrested for kidnapping a police officer. That police officer being Brendan.

Accused by the FBI of being a terrorist, Conor tells his interrogator the truth: how he is really the heir to the throne of Tir Na Nog, a place where the trees can talk; that he has fought alongside imps and banshees against leprechauns and brownies; and that he is in love with a feisty young princess.

Naturally, no one believes him, until that princess turns up to rescue him and take him back to Tir Na Nog. And when he gets there he finds he needs to team up with Essa, Araf and Taun for one final quest, a quest which will decide is ultimate destiny.
